SENIOR ENGINEER: VIDEO R&D

Description: Cernium is the leading provider of intelligent video monitoring products. Our award winning products combine compression and computer vision technology in innovative ways and are changing the way consumers use video monitoring technology. We are looking for an expert on video compression and streaming to join our R&D team who will implement and optimize algorithms on PCs and embedded platforms. If streaming HD video to a mobile device excites you, this is the position for you.
Qualifications: Basic Requirements:
· 5-10 years of C/C++ development experience with very strong programming and optimization skills.
· Deep knowledge of video coding standards, primarily H.264, but including MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. Knowledge of SVC and/or VP8 is a plus.
· Familiarity with networking and streaming protocols such as UDP, HTTP and RTP/RTSP.
· Knowledge of image and video file formats and stream multiplexers for JPG, MP4 and MPEG-2 TS.
· Experience with implementation of video codecs, image filters and digital signal processing.
· Recent experience with code optimization on a DSP or SIMD processor is required.
· Ability to present technical material to engineers and guide implementation.
· Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
The candidate must be methodical and detail-oriented, and have excellent verbal and written communications skills. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment. The ability to multi-task is necessary.
Education Requirements:
M.S. in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science plus 5 years experience, or Bachelors’ degree with 7 years of relevant experience is required.
