MANUFACTURING BUYER/PLANNER

Description:

Plan and execute procurement of assigned goods and services, negotiation of terms, conditions and pricing expectations
Lead all purchasing activities, work to develop strategic supplier and contract manufacturer relationships domestic and international
Executes manufacturing plans, production schedule and EDI
Provide on-time material flow with a continuous improvement approach to quality, price and cost control/reduction on components, sub-assemblies and product

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements

Excellent knowledge of electronic and electronic parts, manufacturing and production processes and techniques
Good communication, time management, decision-making, human relations, and organization skills
Good Electronics Production Planning, MRP, EDI and Management Skills
Excellent Purchasing, negotiation and scheduling skills required
Some travel required

Work Experience Requirements
Minimum:

Five years progressive experience in purchasing, planning and EDI role for electronic, mechanical parts and order processing
Experience executing production schedules with majority of outsourced suppliers and service providers
Proven experience with aspects of receiving, stocking and inventory management
Negotiating experience with current and potential vendors for parts and services
Provide support for new product introductions, customer proposals and quotes and strategic supply initiates as required
Review and take appropriate action on engineering changes (ECOs) to minimize impacts on inventory and support of customer and production requirements
Work collaboratively with other departments on purchase order, expedite for inventory and non-inventory items.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Associates degree required

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, APICS CPIM, CFPIM or CIRM certification a big plus
